In the system of Nine Star Ki there are nine different personality archetypes represented by the numbers 1 to 9. However, your personal profile is comprised of three digits, each of which can be between 1 and 9 – making 81 unique combinations (actually 162 combinations when we take into consideration gender characteristics). The three digits represent different aspects of you, but are essentially about your inherent potential. No one number is better than any other, they simply represent different characteristics and potential.

The categories express potential – which may or may not be manifest. Hence even people of the same profile will display different characteristics, make different choices in their lives and have a unique personal development plan. Ki Profiles allow for this and act as a reference point for understanding ourselves and what we are truly capable of being, as well as giving clues to understanding and enhancing our interactions with others.

Occasionally someone doesn't recognise themselves in their profile i.e. their First Number which is their adult potential. This can mean that they are operating more from their Second Number or child potential and stress response. Nine Star Ki actually reflects the interaction of the forces of nature (wind, water, earth etc) in the environment and our co-existence with these energies, rather than the observable position of the stars and planets. Therefore it is more grounded. The sages observed nine distinctive states or transformations in nature, occurring in a repetitive pattern over time in cycles of nine. The nine year, nine month and nine day cycles of change observed impact all life; plant, animal and human. In studying human behaviour and affairs more closely, it was observed that each transformation influences our perceptions and reactions, giving rise to certain physical and psychological characteristics.

The stress response noted under your Adult Number in your Ki Profile tells the story of your reaction to stress in adulthood, and since your Child Number (which also gives clues to your response to pressure in adulthood) is the same, the characteristics are the same.

 

In Nine Star Ki the relationship between one’s Adult Number and Child Number gives clues to the ease of transition from childhood to adulthood. When the numbers are identical, this suggests that there is no major change in dynamic with growing up, indicating a smooth transition. However because of this, you may experience similar issues in adulthood as you did in childhood and the key is to learn about nurturing yourself and knowing when you need support.

In Nine Star Ki astrology 5 is a fascinating number. It not only describes a unique personality and set of characteristics, it also accentuates the other numbers that make up your personal profile.

 

When your External Number is 5, it emphasises the preceding number in your chart making that more dominant, i.e. your Second Number, also known as your Child Number. If you cannot see yourself in your External Number, it may be that you associate more with your Second Number and display more of these characteristics, even on first impression.

 

If your Second number is also 5, this accentuates the preceding number in your chart, i.e. your First Number also known as your Adult Number and in Nine Star Ki if your Second and Third Numbers are 5, your First Number will be too! So are a 5 person through and through (just like Princess Anne!)

Actually in Nine Star Ki terms your child numbers (which are your main numbers since neither of you are yet 18) are in the “supportive cycle” – see The Relationship Map. Your child numbers are 1 and 3 respectively and 1 (water) supports 3 (wood) as water nourishes tree life (actually all living things).
