Performance Appraisals
Conduct performance appraisals to review individual and team performance and effectiveness in line with key business drivers by:
- Understanding the significance of and need for performance appraisals.
- Appreciating the mechanics of appraisals – timing, location, structure.
- Preparing oneself and the environment.
- Reviewing appraisee’s performance against objectives and in the context of career progression.
- Getting involvement of the appraisee to the process.
- Reaching agreement to set objectives.
- Practising skills such as establishing trust and rapport, giving and receiving constructive feedback, effective questioning, active listening and assertiveness.
- Handling different people and their responses, including emotion and conflict.
