Maximise win/win opportunities and the potential of your relationships while minimising stress and conflict by:
- Understanding what effective influencing means and why it is important in organisations.
- Appreciating the impact of positional and personal power and peoples perception of power.
- Recognising your own and others preferred influencing style and which style to adopt in different situations.
- Following the key steps to influencing.
- Practising building rapport and influencing through verbal and non-verbal means, such as language patterns, appearance and body language.
- Developing influencing strategies such as reasoning, bargaining and coalition.
- Learning how to influence up, down and across the organisation structure.
- Understanding how to modify another person’s behaviour using appropriate triggers and
reinforcers, for example in managing conflict.
